Improving the Performance of Turbo Codes for Awgn, Rmf and B-rmf Channels

چکیده
This paper presents three methods of increasing the performance of turbo codes, depending on the type of channel considered. In case of AWGN channels, a CRC aided decision criterion for the MAP algorithm is proposed. In case of RMF channels, a new chaotic channel interleaver is proposed for the bit interleaved coded modulation. For the BRMF channels, a new composite combining receiver diversity technique is introduced.

Performance of noncoherent turbo detection on Rayleigh fading channels
In this paper, we are concerned with the performance of turbo codes on Rayleigh fading channels when noncoherent detection is employed. Performance of turbo codes with noncoherent detection on AWGN channels has been analyzed by Hall and Wilson. They compared the performance of turbo codes with the achievable information theoretic channel capacity for noncoherent detection on AWGN channels. We, ...

Reliable wireless broadcast with asynchronous data access based on fountain coding is investigated. We review the traditional problem formalisation for fountain codes operating on erasure channels, and we generalise the problem formalisation to more general channels. We introduce a novel type of rateless codes based on the Turbo Principle: the Turbo-Fountain. The Turbo-Fountain is able to consi...

متن کاملOptimised Turbo Codes for Wireless Channels
Error control codes have become a vital part of modern digital wireless systems, enabling reliable transmission to be achieved over noisy and fading channels. Over the past decade, turbo codes have been widely considered to be the most powerful error control code of practical importance. In the same time-scale, mixed voice/data networks have advanced further and the concept of global wireless n...
